Google Buzz -- Privacy and Safety Concerns

Google launches Buzz. Google Buzz or Gmail Buzz is the hottest word in town with people logging in to check the Google Buzz features on new Gmail and looking for ways and means to try their hand on Google Buzz kit.

Google Buzz kit makes it possible for the users to share their photographs, tweets and much more with the world. Many will find similar to Friendfeed now part of the Facebook family. There is a general consensus that soon Google Buzz will make Twitter and Facebook obsolete.

Coming back to the main segment as to how safely you can protect your privacy when using Google Buzz is all dependent upon who you make use of the services offered on new Gmail. Google Buzz provides the option to the individual to make a call whether they would like others to know their current location along with their post.

People need to be thoughtful with whom they share and with what purpose. The risk of privacy will continue to be at top of mind. Although the features allow for sharing only with friends or in public, those who use it need to be very aware of how much information they are releasing in public.

Google Buzz is now available but not widely. It will be rolled out across Google's servers over the next few days.

Apple Introduces the iPad

Is the Appple iPad, launched yesterday, simply a small computer or a larger version of Apple's already successful iPhone?

During yesterday’s “creation” event, Apple finally unveiled its long-rumored system combining key elements from the iPhone and the company’s range of MacBook computers. Called the iPad, the tablet-shaped device does everything you’d expect an iPhone to do, only much better, much faster, and at a greater scale. It’s also a great ebook reader, netbook, and media-playing device, going by the demonstrations taking place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts yesterday morning. A new version of the iWork suite, announced in tandem with the iPad, adds even more benefits to the tablet experience.

The big question is does this replace an iPhone or a Laptop? Are people ready to type long emails on a touchscreen? I'm not. Sure it looks great, nice and shiny but do you need one? All of the things you can do with the iPad, you can do with your iPhone (if you have one), and the lack of a proper keyboard may mean you'd still have a laptop or PC at home.

Tips to Boost Your Wireless Signal

1. Position Your Router

A wireless signal doesn't carry far, and any walls or large objects may cause interference. For this reason, a wireless router should be centrally located in your home to insure the best range possible. Place the router on a flat surface off the floor and away from obstructions. Additionally, there could be interference from a neighboring wireless signal. Make sure that you're using a unique wireless channel to limit interference.

2. Replace your Antenna

The antennas shipped with most routers are small antennas with omni-directional capabilities. These antennas broadcast a signal in all directions, which can be useful if you need wireless throughout your house, but the range is quite short. A directional antenna can improve range by focusing the signal in a specific way, allowing you to aim it where it's needed. These antennas are often called "high-gain" and the signal increase is measured in decibels (dB).

Check out: http://www.ctrl.com.cy/networking/tp-link-6dbi-2-4ghz-indoor-desktop-directional-antenna.html

3. Get a Repeater

A wireless repeater is the easy and safe way to boost your signal. A repeater works very much like a router, but instead of creating a signal, it relays an existing signal. A repeater is easy to install and doesn't require any additional wires or connections. Multiple repeaters make it easy to create a home or business network with complete connectivity.

Check out: http://www.ctrl.com.cy/networking/tp-link-108m-wireless-access-point.html
